The U.N. Does it Again
By now, we’ve all heard about the outrageous release of Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. We’ve seen the footage of his “hero’s welcome” home. We’ve watched as suspicion mounts over the motivation for his release. Now, we’re beginning to hear reports that he may have far more than three months left to live.  And if all of this isn’t insulting enough for you, there is yet another slap in the face for his victim’s families. Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, the beloved financier and motivational speaker of terrorists worldwide, is headed to the United States.
Gadhafi is best known for his belief that all of the world’s problems are due to the cultural influence of western nations. The man who once said that the Jews of Israel ought to be thrown into the sea, has been tied to a multitude of Islamic terrorism acts, has provided arms for the IRA, and even sought to join forces with the Soviet Union during the cold war (it appears he just likes terrorism and the ideology is a secondary concern). The “Brotherly Leader” has come under the microscope again after his treatment of al-Megrahi. President Obama made it clear that he did not wish to see the Lockerbie bomber greeted with a hero’s welcome. Only a few hours later, Megrahi was met in his homeland by a cheering throng that numbered in the thousands. Gadhafi even gave Megrahi a great big hug for the cameras. And is anyone taking this smug gangster to task? No. In fact, Gadhafi will be the guest speaker at the September meeting of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. After which, he will he will head to Englewood, NJ where he plans to throw a party for well-wishers. Of the men and women killed in the Lockerbie bombing, 59 were from New York and 38 were from New Jersey. So I have to ask, Are the people working for the U.N. so dense that they don’t see how inappropriate this is? Their full time job is international relations! These are the people that are supposed to prevent wars! Could it really be that no one thought this was a bad idea? I doubt it. I think the U.N. has once again shown us whose side they’re really on. Time and time again they have shown us that American sentiment is of little to no concern for the overall direction of the organization.  It’s time to wake up. The U.N. has made their position clear, and we ought to do the same. Our leaders have to recognize that these people aren’t looking out for Americans, they’re mocking us. President Obama was seriously disrespected by both Gadhafi and the U.N.. If he doesn’t want this trend to continue for the next 3 -1/2 years, he ought to make a statement now. The next time he’s on T.V, he ought to look at the camera and say, “By the way, I want to mention how insulted I am by the behavior of both Moammar Gadhafi and the U.N.. Both parties deeply hurt the families of the Lockerbie victims. This type of behavior won’t be acceptable if we are to have a relationship in the future.” Come on Mr. President, you can take a 30 second break from attacking conservative pundits and town-hall demonstrators to stand up for your grieving countrymen. Can’t you?

I say we go non nuclear and drop a couple MOAB’s or Blue 82′s on that sand pit! When did we ever let this kind of thing happen without extreme outrage from our President?
Time to Man Up and take a stand Mr. Obama. Just because the UK made a decision to let this jerk go doesn’t mean we have to sit here and take it. Those were mostly Americans that were killed!
Outstanding conclusion Leslie. I saw an image of Reagan in my minds eye saying those things. I was in the Air Force in 1986 when Reagan decided to send a few bombs his way. Here is a YouTube link to the news story from 1986. Guess you’ll have to copy and paste it.

I can’t see Obama doing it no matter how much we wish he would.
We should all thank the Good Lord I’m not the President. I do believe I would be launching a few missiles right about now and making sure Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was in the target area.
