Well, there it was. The much touted Tim Tebow commercial that was supposed to be so controversial. Just his mom telling us that she didn’t know if Tim was going to make it into the world and that she worries about him till this day.

Yes, the weeks leading up to the commercial gave it more press than the commercial itself. We call this a “force multiplier.” Now, no matter which side of the fence you are on, pro abortion or pro life, you have to admit it caught everyone off guard. No direct mention of abortion at all. No, it was simply a commercial to drive you  to the website FocusOnTheFamily.com.

If you get a yellow pages ad just put in your website and maybe your phone number and save thousands per year. If you get a billboard all you really need on it is your web address. Doing print ads? Just put your domain name somewhere on it. At the counter of your business where customers pay for things put your web address in front of their face. Are you doing radio ads? FOX News EVERETT, Wash. — The weather in the Pacific Northwest cooperated with Boeing’s plans to finally get its new 787 jetliner into the air Tuesday, more than two years after it had intended.

The test aircraft completed its ground tests during the weekend, including a 150-mph dash down the runway at Everett’s Paine Field during which its nose gear briefly lifted off the pavement.

Following the completion of testing — the jets ran for at least 40 minutes prior to the flight — the plane rolled down the tarmac in Washington on the way towards its first flight. After a brief pause for photographs, the plane roared down the landing strip and into the skies.

Earlier Tuesday morning, pilots Michael Carriker and Randall Neville said they planned to take the 787 on a 4-hour flight over Washington state, beginning the extensive flight test program needed to obtain the plane’s Federal Aviation Administration certification.

Before landing at Seattle’s Boeing Field, the two-member crew will perform a variety of basic tests and systems checks, said Boeing Commercial Airplanes spokesman Jim Proulx. “They will essentially make sure that the airplane under normal circumstances flies the way it’s supposed to fly,” he said.

Proulx said good visibility, no standing water at the two airports and gentle or no wind are needed for the initial flight, but he noted it was raining when Boeing’s previous all-new airplane, the 777, made its first flight 15 years ago.

Tuesday’s forecast called for rain, 10 mph winds and a cloud ceiling at about 1,500 feet, National Weather Service meteorologist Ted Buehner said. But the weather remained clear enough for teh jetliner to successfully take off.

The plane is the first of six 787s Boeing will use in the flight test program, expected to last about nine months and subject the planes to conditions well beyond those found in normal airline service. Chicago-based Boeing, which has orders for 840 787s, plans to make the first delivery to Japan’s All Nippon Airways late next year.

The 787 is a radical departure for Boeing: About 50 percent of the plane is made of lightweight composite materials, with large sections produced by suppliers around the globe and assembled by Boeing at Everett. The plane, Boeing says, will be quieter, produce fewer emissions and use 20 percent less fuel than comparable aircraft, while passengers will enjoy a more comfortable cabin with better air quality and larger windows.

But the program has been plagued by ill-fitting parts and other problems. The first flight was supposed to be in 2007 with deliveries the following year, but Boeing has been forced to push that back five times — delays that have cost the company credibility, sales and billions of dollars. Most recently, Boeing said it needed to reinforce the area where the wings join the fuselage, with tests completed on that fix just two weeks ago.

An eight-week strike last year by Seattle-area production workers also hampered the program and was a factor in Boeing choosing North Charleston, S.C., in October as the site for a second 787 assembly line.

The 787 remains Boeing’s best-selling new plane to date, though some airlines have been forced to cancel or postpone purchase plans due to the weak global economy.

The version being tested will be able to fly up to 250 passengers about 9,000 miles. A stretch version will be capable of carrying 290 passengers and a short-range model up to 330.

Central Pennsylvania has a pretty strong pro-gun following. It has tons of hunters and target shooters as well as those interested in self defense and protection. What a lot of Pa residents don’t know is that the mayor of a town they live in may be working against the the gun rights they have.

Most all gun owners know of Michael Bloomberg, the millionaire mayor of New York City, they know how anti-gun he is. What many don’t know is that Bloomberg started a political lobbying group known as “Mayors Against Illegal Guns”. Sounds like something everybody would support including your mayor, right? The truth about the organization is far from what its name implies. Bloomberg who has been involved in all kinds of gun control schemes including sending people out of state and attempting to entrap gun dealers by getting them to sell guns to out of state residents and then claiming the guns were making their way into New York City. Where, by the way, its illegal to own a firearm for all intents and purposes. Bloomberg has funded the group who have lobbied congress against a nationwide reciprocity agreement between states which would have made it legal for permit holders in one state to carry their weapon while in another state. They also lobbied congress against a bill to reform the BATFE and bring it into the 21st century, but don’t worry that didn’t pass either. Both of these bills failed due in part to Bloomberg’s group.

Here is the key, several local mayors belong to the group and may not even know what they belong to. Look at this partial list, Kirk Wilson – Carlisle, Robert Brain – Elizabethtown, Trish Ward – Lebanon, John Mark – Liverpool, Oliver Overlander – Marietta, Tim McMahon – Reading, John Brenner – York, the list is much longer but I think you get the idea. Several mayor’s in Pennsylvania have been confronted and have withdrawn from the group, most claimed they did not know what the group was about. For many gun owners these are trying times at best, with Obama and company in Washington and Rendell in Harrisburg who never saw a gun ban he didn’t like.
